Owner

Billy Royal is a licensed civil engineer that spent the first half of his career working in the land development and municipal stormwater design fields. He then joined his brother Chris in the custom homebuilding field where he worked as the design engineer and construction manager.

After developing his skills and experience, Billy went out on his own and started Royal Building Group. The first home built by RBG was sold to the first person that walked through the door. They have been striving to improve on every home since.

Chris joined the company in January of 2019 and the two are looking to expand the team in the near future due to demand.

Chris Royal / Project Manager

With over 17 years of experience, Chris Royal spent many years in the commercial building industry. After moving to Charlotte to pursue an opportunity in world of high end home building, he spent 9 years at one of Charlotte’s premier custom home builders. He worked his way into all aspects of this industry: Superintendent, project manager, general manager and vice president are all roles that have provided him with the knowledge to excel in the high end custom market.

Chris’s favorite aspect of home building is the satisfaction that comes from transforming a spot of land into a client’s dream home. The client’s reaction to their completed home on the day of the move is why Chris has taken the opportunity to work with family and get back out into the field building homes with RBG.

Jamie Bui /
Operations Manager

Jamie joined RBG with over 20 years’ experience in various aspects of the homebuilding industry, including accounting, estimating and budgeting, negotiating with suppliers, and purchasing.  Jamie continues to manage these aspects of the company, and she also facilitates the daily operations of the company.  She moved to Charlotte five years ago from St. Louis where she worked for a local premier builder.  Though her major was in advertising and marketing, she found an interest in the custom homebuilding industry due to her fascination with taking what is on paper and transforming it into a client’s dream home.  Jamie’s years of experience and work ethic help guide the day-to-day operations and maintain trade partner relations at RBG.

Will Meyer /
Project Manager

Will has worked in the residential construction industry for more than 20 years.  After working for a custom home builder for five years in the Charlotte area, Will got his general contractor’s license and started a residential remodeling company.  With a keen focus on providing top-tier workmanship and customer service, he successfully operated Meyer Builders for 13 years.  As time passed, Will was ready to jump back into management of larger projects that would challenge his engineering and detail-oriented mindset.  Will enjoys working with homeowners to provide a seamless experience from beginning to end through communication, hard work, attention to detail, and knowledge of the custom-building process.
