The company is led by Billy Royal and Chris Royal, who together bring nearly 40 years of combined experience in engineering, land development, and residential construction.
Billy Royal / Owner
Billy Royal is a licensed civil engineer with a background in land development, municipal stormwater design, and custom homebuilding. Prior to founding Royal Building Group, Billy worked with Grandfather Homes, a Charlotte-based custom home builder, where he was involved in engineering, land development, and residential construction. That experience provided a strong foundation in construction sequencing, quality control, and building homes with long-term performance in mind.
Chris Royal / Project Manager
Chris Royal brings extensive hands-on construction experience and operational leadership to the company. His background includes residential construction management, project oversight, and day-to-day execution, with a focus on coordination, scheduling, and maintaining consistent standards across all phases of construction.
Will Meyer / Project Manager
Royal Building Group is supported by a strong project management team. Will Meyer serves as a Project Manager and brings valuable experience from both owning his own construction company and working with several of Charlotte’s most respected builders. Will is known for his organization, communication, and attention to detail, and plays a key role in coordinating trades, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects are executed in accordance with Royal Building Group’s standards.
Together, Billy, Chris, and Will take an active, hands-on role in every project. The company studies building science, construction detailing, and evolving specifications, and is committed to continuous learning and refinement. Royal Building Group strives to exceed typical residential construction standards through disciplined planning, informed material selection, and careful execution—without sacrificing practicality or long-term durability.
Royal Building Group intentionally limits the number of projects undertaken each year to allow for direct oversight, clear communication, and consistent execution. We believe successful projects are built on realistic expectations, detailed planning, and mutual trust between builder and client.
Our work reflects a balance of modern design, proven construction methods, and attention to detail. We are not focused on volume. Our priority is delivering well-built homes, standing behind our work, and maintaining long-term relationships with our clients.
